Margarete
My Birthday: January 8, 2004
My Gender: Female
My Home: Joel's Place, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
My Story:
Hi everyone, my name is Magarete. I have big beautiful brown eyes. I love to smile and laugh. If you give me a lollypop, I will do my best to hold your hand. I love school and attend the King George school! Since I really like school and I get frustrated when I am not feeling good enough to go.
I am always laughing! I am in a wheelchair so caretakers take me outside to watch all the children play. I like the warmth of the sun, so when I can I hang out outside. I also watch videos on the T.V. at Joel's Place. Dinner time is really fun, the older kids help me eat. My favorite meal is rice and chicken. I also love sadza with milk. Come visit me and I'll giggle with you!
See ya! Margarete
Background:
Margarete has Cerebral Palsy. She was abandoned by her mother because of her severe special needs. She was placed in the custody her aunt, but financial constraints made it impossible for her to take care of Margarete's special needs. It is believed that Margarete was abused by either her mother or father before she was abandoned. She goes to a special needs school and receives physical therapy. Margarete's condition has improved significantly since she arrived at Mustard seed one year ago. The whereabouts of her mother are unknown.
