Experience Jamaica with us via our blog:
http://hobokencares.blogspot.com/
Seven years ago 10 people from Hoboken, NJ and the greater New York City area started on a journey to help children with disabilities and HIV/AIDS who were living in orphanages in Kingston, Jamaica. Since 2005 Hoboken Cares has had 97 service trippers fall in love with the children and caregivers of Mustard Seed Communities. From our original one trip we have branched out to now have three annual trips. One of our members has become a board member for MSC, another has become a board member for Circle of Hands (a sponsorship organization), and 12 members have become sponsor parents to 14 children.
Many of the children we spend time with in Kingston are mentally and/or physically handicapped. Some of the innocent young children are born with HIV/AIDS. Any and all support that we can provide these children along with their incredible caregivers and administrators is greatly appreciated. We have been lucky in our lives to have so much, and we are so privileged to spend time with the people of Mustard Seed and share our love with them.
Our trip is 100% funded by our generous friends and families. Keep an eye out for upcoming events and ways to help. Thanks for your thoughts as we venture to Kingston in November to lend our hearts and hands to help in any way that we can.
